KLEEMANN ML55K equipped with Toyo Tires sets world record of 282km/h

OSAKA,JAPAN- February 28, 2003--Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. hereby announces that it has taken part in the successful quest for a new world speed record by KLEEMANN A/S. Toyo provided the Proxes S/T tires (295/45R20 114V) equipped on the KLEEMAN ML55K sports utility vehicle (SUV) which achieved a new world record for SUVs of 282km/h at the Nardo in southern Italy February 9.
The performance shattered the previous SUV world record of 266km/h. KLEEMANN A/S, one of the world's leading tuning companies, is headquartered in Denmark. The company develops and manufactures exclusive Kompressor System for Mercedes-Benz, and is also known for its performance on the track. KLEEMANN had already achieved a world record of 338km/h for 4-door sedans in March 2002.

Toyo Proxes S/T series tires have already been put on the market worldwide and have especially high evaluations and popularity in North America.
