On the revision of tire prices intended for the U.S. marketi29, September, 2006j

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation(President: Masaharu Yoshimoto), the U.S. tire sales subsidiary of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshio Kataoka) will revise their tire prices as of October 1, 2006.

Prices for passenger car tires, small truck tires and tires for trucks and buses will increase by a maximum of 5%, while tire prices for construction vehicles will increase by a maximum of 7%.

The primary reason for the price revision is the surge in the prices of natural rubber and petrochemical products, which are the raw materials for tires. The increased prices for these materials exceeded the initial forecasts for the current fiscal year and the company has decided that corporate cost-cutting efforts alone will not be enough to absorb these rising costs.
